Over 99% of the bacteria that the gastrointestinal tract reside in the colon. A healthy gut microbiome is predominantly good bacteria; approximately 85-90% beneficial bacteria (probiotics) and only 10-15% “potentially” bad bacteria. Bacterial imbalance (too many bad bacteria & too few probiotics) is called dysbiosis, which causes a wide range of health problems. Most people alive today suffer from dysbiosis due to widespread use of antibiotics, horrible diets, environmental toxins, etc.
